In the garden, in the garden of my dreams
Every vision is not always as it seems.
The snow drifts around me
Blurring mind and sight, whiteness is all I see;
Then the drizzling of drops... the sky cries
Blanketing my frozen skin, before it dries.
Thoughts drifting, fading, colliding
Of a beauty from my sight is hiding;
Kaleidoscopes and carousels
Ice cream sundaes, the attraction swells.
In the chapel the gable sways
From me, you're missing... let me count the ways.
Crystal shards and warm summer sands
Somehow bring thoughts of holding your hands;
That smile, to launch a thousand ships
A snowflake lands softly on your lips.
Indeed if it be a garden to me
You are a beauty I would surely like to see;
Blossomed and elegant, demure and kind
A diamond in the rough, truly one of a kind.
However, dreams are not meant to last
Like all things they drift into the past.
So I'll plant thee, where you might grow
Like a gardener I'll nurture and sow;
Keep you near to my heart
To grow together... and never apart.
